Cost Sharing Program
Wisconsin is taking a lead in enhancing our disease traceability capabilities following nationally established standards. The next steps after premises registration are animal ID and animal tracking.
PAST PROGRAMS:
In 2007 DATCP offered a voluntary cost share program for animal ID to support livestock producers using the new USDA approved AIN ID devices. This pilot program expired on December 31st, 2007. This program may be offered again at a future date.
CURRENT PROGRAMS:
Currently there are two programs available for producers interested in using the approved AIN RFID devices.
DAIRY CATTLE
AIN RFID devices are currently available to Wisconsin dairy producers through there DHIA technician. To sign up, please contact your DHIA technician or DHIA office and inquire about the Wisconsin AIN RFID program. The DHIA technician can explain the signup details and provide you with a signup form.
BEEF CATTLE
AIN RFID devices are also available for Wisconsin beef cattle producers. To find out more information about the program call the WLIC office at 888-808-1910.
Swine
Premises ID tags or AIN RFID devices are now available for Wisconsin pork producers. To find out more information about the program call the WLIC office at 888-808-1910.
