JENTZ JOINS WLIC AS COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
VERONA, WI 1/14/2011 – The Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium (WLIC) recently announced the addition of Kayla Jentz as Communications Coordinator. In her new role, Jentz will be responsible for implementing and maintaining WLIC’s communications and marketing initiatives while also working to promote premises registration and animal identification to producers and livestock groups.
Jentz is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science Communications. Throughout college, Jentz was involved with many campus organizations including National Agri-Marketing Association, Badger Dairy Club, Sigma Alpha, and the collegiate dairy cattle judging team. She also brings communications experience from her internships at East Central/Select Sires, Hoard’s Dairyman, UW-Madison Department of Dairy Science, and from her most recent position as Marketing Associate at ANIMART.
Jentz grew up on a registered Holstein dairy farm in Lomira, Wisconsin, where she actively helped on the farm and participated in many local, state, and national cattle shows.
“Kayla’s communication background and hands on experience working with livestock will be a great asset to the WLIC,” says Robert Fourdraine, WLIC Chief Operating Officer. “Kayla will be present at many of the livestock industry winter meetings and will update producers on the animal identification benefits and tag incentive programs currently available. In addition, she will be working extensively with youth through 28 county and state fair programs.”
The mission of the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium is to create a secure livestock identification system to protect animal health and market access, and to offer opportunities that enhance the marketability of Wisconsin livestock products. Representing more than fifty businesses, organizations and livestock producer associations, WLIC draws upon the collective strength of its diverse membership to help strengthen and advance animal disease traceability in Wisconsin and the nation as a whole.
